That's using an old stiff handle. I am training both Friday's and Sunday's. On Friday it's an old handle and on Sunday's a newer freer spinning handle. Both times using a thumbless grip. It's the grip we're using in the up coming (if I haven't left it too late to pay my fee) European Grip Championships on August 26th (not as I thought 25th - which means too close to the Fire engine pull for me to have a go unless I'm fucked ha ha).
Plus that session was a few kilos light from where I wanted it to be.

Bodyweight still down. That said I had a hell of a stomach yesterday (more time than I care to mention in the WC). I ended up using the straight bar. 20-kilos a side x 12 reps, 30-kilos a side x 12 reps (v light I know but the back pumped more than the legs. It was the first time in 2 years I squatted). Two hand pinch @ 70mmequ (43) x 6 reps, plus 20-kilos x 3 reps, plus 30-kilos x 3 reps, plus 32.5-kilos x 1, plus 36.75-kilos x 2 x 1 x 2 V-barworked up to 120-kilos when the end came off. Also used the towel from 60-kilos to 100-kilos. Worked ok.

Nice session.
Steve what is your best on a new handle?
How old would you consider an 'old handle' to be? I have been using RT for a few months now, is this still classed a new one?

right handed 95 kilos I think. In the GGC 2004 I did 210-lbs to win the event. A 'new' handle is one which spins as freely as new and an 'old' one is stiff.

Wednesday Amazing how quick days go by so I must get stuff done. We're having a practise at the Fire Engine tomorrow (take camara!) at 1.45pm. Took harness to gym to test putting it on etc. Alf and Scooter coming tomorrow.
Squat 20-kilos a side x 8 reps, 35-kilos a side x 2 x 8 reps. Leg strength not an issue as it was no strain at all. But my lower back is as weak as piss and I had to flex and control it. Next time 37.5-kilos a side.
V-Bar B/H: 40-kilos x 3 reps, 60-kilos x 1 reps, 80-kilos x 1 rep, 100-kilos x 1 rep (all with towel), 115-kilos x 1 rep, 120-kilos x 1 rep, 130-kilos x 1 rep. NB: I used my power rack pin, all were done at top of pin (50mm grip as per rules) and I used a 5lb 1" spec plate at the bottom. Pin weighs about 7-8lbs. So for example 40-kilos is actually 45.9-kilos total.
Two hand pinch @ 70mm equ x 6 x 1 rep, plus 20-kilos x 3 reps, plus 25-kilos x 1 rep, plus 27.5-kilos x 1 rep, plus 30-kilos x 1 rep, plus 31.25-kilos x 1 rep, plus 32.5-kilos x 1 rep, plus 35-kilos x 1 rep, plus 36.25-kilos x 1 rep, plus 37.5-kilos x 1 rep, plus 38.75-kilos x 1 rep, plus 40-kilos x 1 rep, plus 41.25-kilos x 2 attempts, plus 40-kilos x 1 rep (40-kilos over set weight is new PB on this set up and is 83.6-kilos or 183.92lbs not including spring collars)
Bwt 19st 9lbs 8oz

Friday I don't recommend pulling a fire engine one day and then the next day working out. It was hard, me joints ache and my RT lifts were down.
R/Thunder B/H: 60-kilos x 3 reps, 80-kilos x 3 reps, 100-kilos x 3 reps L/H: 115-kilos x 3 x 1 reps R/H: 130-kilos x 0 reps, 126.25-kilos x 0, 125-kilos x 2 x 1 and 1 missed rep
Seated press 20-kilos e/s x 8 reps, 30-kilos e/s x 6 reps, 40-kilos e/s x 4 x 1 reps. First 2 were better than before. 3rd one I held my breath a little too long and suddenly the bar was coming down much quicker than it ought to. 4th was ok.
Cable Curls 10p x 8 reps, stack x 8 reps, plus 17.5-kilos x 7 bloody hard reps
Tricep Pressdown stack x 8 reps, plus 15-kilos x 8 reps, plus 50-kilos x 6 reps (shit form). I must use a dipping belt and d/bell to hold myself in position.

Saturday Bigpete (Pete Reynolds) came over to play for event training with MT member Leanmachine (Oscar) and during his visit he spotted the adjustable 2HP set up which I had left loaded with 50-kilos (so 73-kilos altogether). I picked it up easily showing off so...
So I came back later after some more food, icecream and a coffee and did the following
Two Hand Pinch 73-kilos x 3 x 1 reps, 75.5-kilos x 3 x 1 reps, 76.75-kilos x 1 rep, 78-kilos x 1 rep, 79.75-kilos x 1 rep, 81-kilos x 1, x 1, x 1, x 0*, x 0* reps
* I noticed that the weights were sliding forward and the previous rep seemed easier cos of it. So I moved the weights back and forward to see if this helped but I think I had 'shot my bolt' as the forearms became fatigued.

SundayGrippersNot that great - could have been better. After the fire engine pull I may have a week off and then restrusture my training (lighter weights, more reps to begin with, change some movements) with a long term view and targets for next years British.
