I might start using mine at the end cos the last sesssion fried my forearms so badly I had to rest for 10 minutes before continuing training. And that's without using them (I did pullover machine followed by bench) much.
2.75 is good enough.
I'm changing to the 'new' handle RT and starting to use the thumb from tomorrow and we'll see how that goes.

Cheers Steve . I normally use a scaffold tube but thats got nothing on my drain tube. May pester you for some grip advice if thats ok ?

Of course. One of the bodybuilders at the gym today (quite serious and may compete) tells me he'll 'be leaving that alone' referring to the wrist roller he'd tried two weeks before cos he tore a lump of skin of his palm and 'it fucks you up for minutes'

Farmers = what happened My left hand grip went. My grip feels weaker since i started training it. My left wrist felt weird after this ,as if i had no grip ? Tyre Drag = Because the tyre digs in this event felt very hard. On the 120 my legs pumped right up & on the 170 i had to really pull as it nearly stopped a couple of times & that was downhill.
Tyre Drag & Sandbag carry = This was very hard.I couldn`t pick the bag up as it just kept falling out of my arms. Bag needs to be heavier or distance further,100k maybe & this may make it easier to pick up (NOT). Stones= I was seeing stars & feeling rough after the first 3 reps but i made it.Going to up the weight to 110 next week & go for 2-3 sets of 4-5 reps .Want to get to 120 x 3 sets of 6-8 reps .
Not a bad sess .I`m sat here feeling sick as i type this,so must have been ok ? Seem to be getting my fire back,all thanks to Karlsen (cheers mate for being so good & strong).

Didn`t do my c&pp today as i didn`t know wether my wrist was still playing up from yesterday. My wrist held out anyway,thank god. I thought i`d start a new grip routine as suggested by Kong. SUN = CRUSH TUES = THICK BAR WED = PINCH Anybody got any thoughts ?

Thought i`d take it easy tonight as i felt knackered from work. I thought i`d use the thick bar as it would still be hard but lighter. Tried the squat as i remember people saying how hard it was at 1 of the comps,didn`t find much difference. Deads felt good tonight ,i think i could have done more but didn`t want to push myself too hard . Thick bar curls were a killer.I found them very hard. Rolling Thunder reps were done 1 after another with no real setting of each hand. Wrist roller was a killer yet again .Up 5k on last time,want 100k by xmas.

My left shoulder is still iffy from bench last week & it wasn`t until i got pissed off & put the thick bar away i realised that it was 35k & not 20k so when i thought i was doing 80k i was doing 95k (THICK TWAT) Didn`t risk bench as thats what started it last week I`m looking on the postitive side of life & at least i live to fight another day. Grippers PB easy enough seeing as it`s my first go at em.

Didn`t wake up in time to go to Cullompton & train with Big Al & the boys so i thought i`d train quickly as the drive is being used as a carpark for my neighbours barbie at 2. Loading the Duck walk & 75k rolled off of the sack truck & straight over my right big toe.This throbbed like fcuk whilst doing Duck walk so i thought i`d do stones.Putting the weights away i managed to drop a 25k plate on the same big toe Started stones & on my 3rd rep the judo mats i use to deload onto decided to split & jam right up under my finger nail. Call it fate but still moderately happy as thats a massive PB on the d/w for me . As far as the fire engine pull goes i`ll have to see how badly bruised it is in the morning

Training has been irratic lately.Seem to be getting on top of it now though. Next week onwards i`m going to have to get my arse in gear. I want 100k wrist roller by xmas ;D Looking into trying a new rolling days training regime : tues = deads/squats thurs = shoulders/chest tues = bis /tris Means more recoup time ? What do you boys think

It's similar to the every other days routine. DC training also uses a version. One way bodybuilders go is upper body one day, rest, lower body next, rest, upper body, weekend off, lower body and so on. As a strength athlete you could do, lower body, rest, upper body, rest, events, rest, rest, lower body, rest and so on.
Or, as you have, Mo rest, Tu upper, Wed rest, Thur lower body, Fri to Mon rest, Tu events and repeat.
If you have Tuesdays and Thursdays off try a double split (train 2x in the same day with hard in the am and easy later on) but keeping the out of gym days the same.

Big J & Kong are either pushing me hard or beating me out of sight,young whipper snappers. Log is still shite but at least i didn`t have any shoulder pain (yet). Big J preformed amazingly throughout the sess.If this lad keeps training & pushing himself like he has done on the last 2 sessions then he`ll be a future star . Kong put in 110% effort as usual.Stop pissing around with your grip (its already formidable) & start hitting some heavy deads & such. You`ve got it when you put the effort in so get on with it .I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Mixing up muck for the father-in-law & loading 200 blocks up 2 sets of steps all day,hell of a good cardio. I`m fubared now. Got a pinch workout out of it by pinch gripping the blocks as i was loading em.My fingers feel like they`ve been scrubbed with a cheese grater

MON 18/9/06 T/B SQUATS 155K X 4 155K X 4 155K X 4 155K X 4 175K X 0 Unracked it went down & my legs were so fubared they just wouldn`t push back up T/B DEADS 185K X 4 185K X 4 185K X 4 185K X 4 215K X 0 (MID SHIN) Wow what a load of crap,but i`m not unhappy at all infact i`m quite pleased. Found every rep very hard to say the least. Squats were hard trying to position bar. Shows just how weak my legs are now. Deads were hard from rep 1 after squatting. Doing this routine next week with an oly bar so i hope to improve. This is a BEAST of a routine.Try it for the next 6-8 wks & hopefully my strength will rise with it. I think i`ve achieved a breakthrough in the fight against my EGO ! I feel like i`ve trained 2night. Loads of room to improve . Cheers TOM
